Founder & President
Colin is the founder and president of Lord and Richards. Considered by many to be an “advisor to advisors,” Colin has trained hundreds of financial advisors across the country. His method of helping his clients achieve financial independence is one of the most innovative strategies in the retirement marketplace, and he has been quoted in media outlets across the country as a speaker, author, radio host, and personal investment advisor. Colin has passed the Series 65 securities exam and holds life insurance licenses in multiple states so he can assist his clients with advanced planning. In addition, Colin and his wife Kaye Dee created the Foundation for Global Education to provide Christian education and charity throughout the developing world.

Robert Allamon has a passion for helping people, and is a financial advisor with Lord and Richards. With years of experience in religious and non-profit organizations, Robert brings a deep desire to help his clients achieve their highest goals personally, relationally, and financially. Robert finds advising his clients very rewarding because of his strong commitment to building a comprehensive, written retirement strategy that will get them safely to, and through retirement. As part of his commitment to providing excellent advice to his clients, Robert has passed the Series 65 securities exam and holds life insurance licenses in multiple states.
Jason Weckel, CTS™
Jason is a Certified Tax Specialist™ and financial advisor with Lord and Richards, and is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining retirement plans for his clients. In addition to advising clients in multiple states, Jason has coached advisors across the country on ways to implement unique and powerful strategies to help their own clients through retirement successfully. More than anything, he enjoys seeing hard work and detailed plans come together to help allow people to live their lives to the fullest in retirement. Jason has passed the Series 65 securities exam, and also holds life insurance licenses in multiple states.
Robert is an accountant and financial advisor for Lord and Richards with a strong background in finance. Throughout his career, he has honed his specialty in tax. From determining taxability of trades at a hedge fund level, to personally consulting with entrepreneurs’ personal and corporate tax returns, his knowledge in taxes is extensive and includes advising large companies. Throughout Robert’s experience of dealing with high net worth individuals, he has noticed a gap between personal wealth and financial wisdom. This has increased Robert’s passion in working with his clients to help them achieve their retirement and other financial goals. Robert has passed the Series 65 securities exam and hold his life insurance license.
John Sánchez, CPA
John is a licensed CPA and financial advisor with Lord and Richards. John brings past corporate experience as a chief financial officer and has advised business owners in diverse industries such as mining, small-ticket leasing, manufacturing, financial services and health care. He excels in matters of forecasting and planning, corporate insurance, retirement planning, equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate tax and sales. This experience has given him a passion to help his clients achieve both their business and personal goals through sound strategies and practices. Today, he brings that same passion to individual retirement planning. John has passed the Series 65 securities exam and holds his life insurance license.
Director of Operations
Kari Beers came to Lord and Richards after working several years in operations for a national fitness chain where she assisted in opening new facilities in the Denver metro area and in Nebraska, Kansas and Utah. Most recently, Kari worked five years in Douglas County at Ben Franklin Academy and Valor Christian High School. Being a farm girl at heart, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in agriculture and a minor in management. At Lord and Richards, she is instrumental in managing the office logistics and helping solve problems whenever they arise.
Kari and her husband, Ike, have been married for over 20 years and have four busy kids. When they are not chauffeuring kids to a practice or game, the family enjoys an occasional movie night, watching football and March Madness, and kayaking.
Janie Allamon is a people person and has a passion for building relationships. As an experienced administrative assistant for many years, she brings a warm voice and friendly face to the Lord and Richards office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer science and thoroughly enjoys the relational side of her job. She and her husband, Robert, have been married for over 30 years and enjoy being back in Denver. Janie’s passions include not only her husband but also their four sons, three daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. She and Robert are active members of their local church and enjoy ministering together there. Janie also loves shopping, reading and attempting cycling or the game of golf.
Emilee Nelson is the marketing coordinator of Lord and Richards. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and leads the daily effort to keep our clients and the community aware of all the good things happening at our firm. Emilee assists in event planning and communications and is the force behind our digital marketing and social media. In addition, She assists Colin’s wife, Kaye Dee, in the publication of a digital blog and Christian magazine called “The Beautiful Spirit.” She is involved in her local church’s singles group as well as its sound and music ministries. In her spare time, Emilee loves photography, writing music and exploring the Rocky Mountains with her friends and family.
